The Nayatt PTO is meeting on Wednesday, May 1st. The meeting is from 7:15-8:15 PM to accommodate the Third Grade Parent Orientation at HMS. Babysitting is provided. Mrs. Bertoncini is our featured guest and I will share the results of our parent satisfaction survey and get feedback on how we can improve. We hope to see you there.
A few housekeeping reminders to help things run smoothly at Nayatt School. We are expecting inclement weather this week. Car drop offs should make sure to pull all the way up to the gate so we can unload as many cars as possible to keep traffic flowing.
Parents, please be reminded that students are expected to be in school. Repeated and excessive early dismissals can result in a truancy letter. It is disruptive to learning and requires teachers to have to make up work with students. Our teachers are very dedicated and hard working. This puts an additional burden on their time with all students. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
In addition, we are seeing an increase in vacations outside of the school calendar. Please be reminded that this is considered an unexcused absence for your child/ren. Teachers are not required to provide work to students on vacation. This is in the Nayatt School Handbook and consistent practice throughout the district. Thank you for your time and attention. We have about 40 days left of school and there is much to be accomplished.
This year, in response to the 2017-2018 Parent Satisfaction Survey, Nayatt teachers have been using See Saw to promote communication with families. Communication continues to be an area for opportunity in the 2018-2019 Parent Satisfaction Survey. We are hoping parents will come out to this week’s PTO meeting to provide feedback on how we can continue to improve communication with families. Thanks for your time and attention.
Have a great week!
