We hope you had a wonderful Easter and/or Passover as well as time with family and friends! It is hard to believe we are in the final nine weeks of school with a little over forty days left in the school year. There is so much learning and fun to be had.
This week, our third graders will be participating in the RICAS Assessment, the state assessment on the 24th and 25th. All we ask is that our children try their best. We keep the environment supportive and relaxed. PTO provides snacks and students are allowed to have sugar free gum or mints during testing.
The Nayatt PTO has moved this week’s scheduled meeting for Thursday, April 25th to Wednesday, May 1st. The meeting is from 7-8 PM. Babysitting is provided. Mrs. Bertoncini is our featured guest and I will share the results of our parent satisfaction survey and get feedback on how we can improve in our areas for opportunity.
In addition to the RICAS Assessment, we are celebrating A Day without Hate on Friday April 26th. This event is sponsored by the Chain Reaction Club at BHS and is supported K-12. For more information about how your child can support this event, see details below.
Please be sure to order a Nayatt School Yearbook for your child by Friday, April 26th. Details are below.
Special thanks to our PTO Gardens and Grounds Team led by Ivy Milliken and Kyra Reynolds for coming to help us clean up our school year on Monday, the 22nd, in honor of Earth Day.
On Tuesday, April 23rd, several representatives from the Chain Reaction Club at Barrington High School and their advisor, Mrs. Correia visited Nayatt School for a morning meeting about the purpose of their club and their special upcoming event, A Day without Hate. The high school students spoke to the elementary children about ways they reach out to students in their school to lift someone’s spirits, to make others feel included, and to be kind. The goal of their efforts is to create a “chain reaction”, so others will in turn reach out and perform random acts of kindness. In celebration and reflection of these efforts throughout K-12 in the Barrington Schools, the students at Nayatt are asked to participate in this special event and reach out to others throughout the day. Please feel free to attend the poster making contest at BHS with your child/ren and to wear white on Friday to show your agreement for this work in our schools.
Have a great week!
