Student Progress is on a Trimester System this school year and moving forward with grade reporting. Students are working towards end of year benchmarks aligned to the Common Core State Standards for English/Language Arts and Math. Student progress was reported via a parent conference in December. The next trimester, progress report will be March 16th and posted in Aspen for parents to view. Between the March Progress Report and the End of Year Grade Report, there will be a Spring Parent Teacher Conference on April 27th. See more information below.
This week Nayatt Celebrated Fine Arts thanks to the efforts of the Art Teachers at the K-3 level, Amy Gusetti and Kristin White. They were supported by countless colleagues and parent volunteers to make the celebration of student artistic talent a memorable event. It is evident what our children have been learning about the diverse cultures of Asia. On Wednesday, February 28th, the students also observed the Brown Taekwondo Team share their art form in a martial arts presentation. In April, we will be visited by Chinese Acrobats and in May by an Indian Dance Group. Be sure to check the webpage for pictures. We cannot thank the Nayatt PTO and all of our parents for making these events possible for the students. It is amazing.
Beginning of Monday, February 26th, Large, silk murals from the Japanese artist, Hokusai, famous for the woodcut of the Great Wave, will be hung at Nayatt School. PTO is supporting this display of art as part of the School Wide Fine Arts Theme-Asia.
Join us on Wednesday, February 28th, for Nayatt School's Fine Arts Night and enjoy the silk murals and student art celebrating the theme of Asia.
There will also be a Tae Kwan Do demonstration at Nayatt on February 28th.
