Upcoming Events:

  • Monday, December 21st-Wednesday, December 23rd-All Students participating in Distance Learning.

  • Winter Break is December 24th-January 3rd.

  • Students will participate in Distance Learning from January 4th-January 7th.

School Calendar Clarification

The distance learning decision for the week of 12/21 is due to the number of districts throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts that are closed, impacting the ability to staff the schools.

RIDE's decision to go distance learning 1/4-1/6:

  • build in a natural 10-day quarantine to prevent the increased cases and lack of staffing faced by districts following the Thanksgiving break.

  • As long as the majority of people follow the guidelines put in place by the Governor, we anticipate these three days will allow us to return to in-person instruction as soon as possible.

BPS Plan

The district intends to move the K-5 students and 5-day-a-week students back in person as close to January 7th as possible.

The decisions will be based on the following:

●     the number of cases in Rhode Island;

●     increases in positive cases and the number of staff that had to quarantine

●     the number of staff and students that will need to quarantine in early January due to travel restrictions which require a 14-day quarantine;

RIDOH Travel Guidance/Quarantine

●  the number of districts who do not return on the 7th resulting in further staffing implications.

Please make us aware if you have traveled and follow all important guidance to protect our Nayatt Community.

Barrington Public Schools Devices:

  • Every child is expected to use a district issued device, please let us know if your child needs one.

  • This allows for consistency between school and home and the ability for staff to troubleshoot.

  • The Clever badge and other resources are set up to interact with BPS issued devices.

Nayatt School Lunch Program:

  • Free meals for students extended until the end of the school year.
