Paraprofessionals are an integral part of the team at Nayatt School. They support students as well as all of the duties such as arrival & dismissal supervision in all kinds of weather, lunch duties, recess duties, parent meeting coverage, common planning time coverage, and more. They have truly gone above and beyond this year, helping across pods when needed, supervising lunch when students do not have masks, and often being much less than 6 feet from the children they service on a regular basis. Paraprofessional Appreciation Day is a national day dedicated to our support staff so we can celebrate them and their contributions to the students, teachers, administration, the classrooms, and our school.
The Paraprofessionals or Teacher Assistants at Nayatt School are:
Melissa Buzzi-Grade 1
Heather Smith-Grade 2
Karla Peregrina-Grade 3
Kristen Patterson-Grade 2
Julie Power-Grade 3
How can parents celebrate and show their support for our paraprofessionals?
Ask your child about the teacher assistants who come to their class and make them a card?
Thank them at arrival or dismissal.
Bake a treat for them with your child or make a craft.
