  • Movie Screenagers:  The Nayatt PTO is hosting a viewing of the movie Screenagers on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Barrington Public Library.  Our interim superintendent, Robert Mitchell, has seen it and says, “ It's a must see for parents.  It's an opportunity for parents to learn how screen time is impacting our children."  Click here to register.  More information may be found here.

  • Family Math Night:  Our annual Family Math Night is scheduled for Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 5:30-7:00.  You can drop in or stay the whole time.  This is a great time to learn different games you can play with your child with a simple deck of cards and/or some dice.  Registration may be done here.  More information may be found here.

  • Grades 2 and 3 PTO/Arts Alive Play:  Registration opens in January about the second and third grade play program.  This year, the play will be Finding Nemo, Jr.  Information about audition and rehearsal dates, performance date and times, and registration may be found here.  Please note:  On the Arts Alive website, it says you can pay by Venmo.  The Venmo account is not active but you can use PayPal to pay for this program (@SowamsRIPTO).  Also, if you need to request a scholarship for this program, please reach out to me.  The last day to register is this Friday.

  • School Construction Project:  On Monday night, we had representatives from the various companies that are involved in our upcoming school construction and renovation projects.  At the meeting, they provided information about what the school will look like and the timeline for everything to happen.  The presentations to the different community forums being held, including the one used for Sowams, may be found here.  General information about all of the new construction and renovation projects can be found on our district website here.
