Mrs. Melissa Moniz

Principal

       Week Of: April 3, 2023

Important Info:

  • Please remind students that cell phones or smart watches that have the ability to make calls, receive text messages or take photos should not come to school. If your child walks home from school, for example, and you would like them to have a phone in their backpack, please remind them that it must remain in the back pack. We are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged phones or watches. If a student is seen using a phone inappropriately at school, the teacher will remind them it needs to be in the back pack and let the family know. If it does continue to be an issue, I will keep it in my office and a parent may come and pick it up. A reminder that this is to protect the privacy and safety of all students.

  • Also, although our intent is to be polite, we must ask that all adults entering the school building do not hold the door open for other adults wanting to enter. There is a list that Ms. Patota in the office keeps of guests and visitors expected into the building. She also is sure to clear any visitors and we want to be sure to have an accurate account of who is in the building at all times.

This Week:

Upcoming Events:

  • RI School for the Deaf will be coming to do hearing screenings on Monday, May 15th at 9:00 a.m.

  • Tai Chi presentation will happen on Friday, April 28th for all students! Thank you to Mr. Alan Feinstein for sponsoring the event and for the Nayatt PTO for your support! Working on coping skills and learning ways to calm and focus are always a focus and benefit for all!

  • We will be celebrating Autism Acceptance Spirit Week April 3rd - April 6th! One of the most common color associations used to represent autism is the rainbow spectrum. Instead of choosing just one color, the range of colors inside the rainbow represents the scope of abilities and diagnoses on the autism spectrum – highlighting the variety of abilities and challenges each faces.
