Barrington Middle School ranks #1 on the Best Middle School list for Rhode Island. Nayatt School and Sowams School rank #2 and #4, respectively, on the Best Elementary School list for Rhode Island.
U.S. News uses publicly available assessment and achievement data from the U.S. Department of Education to calculate its Best Schools rankings each year. Ranking indicators include reading and mathematics proficiency scores on state assessments, test results in the context of socio-economic demographics, and student-teacher ratios.
