Nayatt News Update 10.23.2020
Empowering All Students to Excel
Dear Nayatt Families,
Our students are happy and things are going well. See pictures below in this message. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation with screening your child/ren for symptoms, keeping them home when needed, and communicating with the school. We appreciate your commitment to the student attestation forms.
As we get closer to the holiday season, it is important for families to review the guidance from RIDOH on travel. COVID/Travel This may require a quarantine and we want parents to be fully aware of the expectations. Thank you for your time and attention.
The Nayatt PTO:
Our Nayatt PTO is an important part of our school community. They have a communication tool for connecting families Joining PTO Office. This resource also allows parents to purchase spirit wear, to join our PTO, to see communications and more.
Our usual fundraisers such as the Nayatt 5K, after school enrichment programs, the Nayatt School Play with Arts Alive cannot be offered this year. We are dependent on the following:
Nayatt PTO membership
Sale of Spirit Wear on PTO Office
Our Direct Contribution Campaigns (letters went home today)
Square 1 Art
We encourage you to join our PTO and attend our 4 meetings per year. They always include helpful workshops, important information, and feedback from our principal and head teachers. Thank you for supporting our PTO and our school.

When is it appropriate for my child to participate in Distance Learning
Students who are out sick or being monitored for covid symptoms may participate in Distance Learning, if they are able.
Students are not allowed to participate in Distance Learning at random. This is carefully followed and documented and can be cause for an attendance investigation.
If your child needs to be home for illness, try to email the office staff and the classroom teacher so we can mark your child, “virtually present” and make sure they can access the classroom.
Students who are on vacation or visiting family are considered an unexcused absence and will make up work on their return, this is district policy.
Official Changes to Your Child’s Learning Model:
If a change is requested to move from distance learning to in-person, please note that it may take up to two weeks for the plan to be implemented, as schedules, seating arrangements, and teacher assignments may need adjusting.
Please note that if your child is remaining home due to COVID Symptoms or is quarantined, you do not need to complete the Learning Model Change Request. The school nurse or secretary will work with you on using the Distance Learning options during that time.
Please be sure to check with your child, when we verify at school, children are changing their orders.
Please be sure to order by 7:45 AM, we check in the morning and if you request late in the day, your child may not get lunch. Thank you.
Have a great week!
