Week Of: September 26, 2022

Important Info:

  • Reminder: No School September 26th

  • Feinstein Golden Ticket copies will be sent home this week! If a Golden Ticket is chosen that is assigned to a Nayatt Student, our school receives a Feinstein grant and the student is able to choose an organization of their choice in which a donation will be made to. Please be sure to hold onto your ticket. The original ticket must be turned in if selected, so we are keeping the originals here at school for safe keeping. Good luck! We hope to have some of our own “Golden Tickets” selected this year!

  • There are times when the office receives an influx of calls to change student dismissal at the end of the school day, as dismissal is about to start.  Please notify the office and teacher with a note or an email if there is a dismissal change. If there is a last minute change, we ask that you please notify the main office before 2:00 p.m. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Screening in reading and math will continue. Speech screenings for kindergarten and new students will also take place this month.

  • Please be sure to return your student handbook form.

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Has everyone in your family had their flu vaccine?

There will be a FREE flu vaccine clinic at Barrington High School and at Sowams School.

Here’s some important information about the FREE flu vaccine clinic:

• Register online at schoolflu.com to schedule an appointment.

• Online registration is required to ensure the availability of the vaccine, walk-ins will be limited.

• Staff are trained on health and safety measures.

• Insurance information will be collected, but the vaccine is FREE whether you have insurance or not.

The flu is a serious, highly contagious, and sometimes deadly disease. Catching the flu means missing days of work and school. You might even have to spend time in the hospital. Don’t take the risk — the flu vaccine is your best protection against the flu.

If you have any questions, call the RIDOH information line at 401-222-5960. You can also learn more at health.ri.gov/flu/.
