       Week Of: November 7, 2022

Important Info:

  • From Nurse Collins:

    • Nayatt School, especially grade 1, has had an increase in intestinal illness. Please encourage frequent hand washing and review guidelines for keeping sick children home.

  • Vomiting and diarrhea helps the body to get rid of germs. Make sure your sick child stays hydrated. Keep children home if they've vomited in the last 24 hours, or until their stools are solid.

  • As a general rule, your child must be symptom-free and fever-free for 24 hours, without the use of medication, to attend school. Please also consider whether or not your child is energetic enough to engage in class. Keeping a sick child home from school helps prevent the spread of illness in the school community and allows your child time to rest and recuperate. If you need further guidance, please contact the school nurse.

  • November Lunch Menu - Please remember that when you send lunch payment in, it needs to be in an envelope with your child’s name on it. Please do not send loose money in. Thank you!

  • Please remember to slow your speed as you enter the school grounds. There are many students and staff that are walking and we want to be sure everyone is safe. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

  • As we enter the month of November, and we are beginning to plan for the holiday season, we are reminded that this may be a very challenging time of year for some families especially with the cost of food and needs on the rise. Please know that families are welcome to reach out to their school social workers who can provide resources and support to help meet their needs.  It is our pleasure to support you confidentially and respectfully.
